What has to happen for you to take the leap?

The answer is simple, right? Win the lottery. Okay, so what’s the next realistic thing that must happen? This is a REALLY TOUGH question. It’s one that doesn’t get answered nonchalantly. In fact, it’s not a simple one item answer. For that business, that project, that adventure –whatever it is that you have been contemplating, what will it take for you to take the plunge?

Have you given it serious thought and identified what circumstances must be present to move forward with your dream? Or is it merely just taking up brain space and never to be given a life? Letting your idea merely bounce around in your head is such a disservice! If the idea is big enough to dream, why not take a few moments to calculate what must happen and what must be in place to bring this dream to fruition?

It’s the old adage “nothing ventured, nothing gained”. If you have an idea or dream, it will always just be that until you determine if and how you can make it happen. Figuring that out doesn’t have to be hard or scary. Think of it as merely an exercise in obtaining knowledge. We all could use more, right? Obtain more knowledge about this thing you are dreaming about by taking 1 or 2 proactive steps. Baby steps. You could devise a list. You could do some research. You could reach out to others who have done the same. These are small steps, but they are important ones.

That dream that you have in the back of your mind actually might be able to come to life – on your terms – if you start with baby steps. Once you take those first one or two, the next ones will fall into place too. And before you know it, you’ll have a plan. You’ll know what must happen to translate that dream into a goal.
